No, to light, just my opinion.

I would try it while there, but is a lot to learn in a short amount of time, but the catching will probably be good .
Use your spinning as backup in case the fly becomes to difficult.
Salesrep
Only if you think they do.
Use what ever makes you more confident.

Probably a weight forward floating 9wt.
That is the most practical line, but if you need to go deep, then I would recommend an Intermediate line or a full sink line.
You need to determine how you are going to fish and then buy the right line accordingly.

Always cut my skirt short and ALWAYS add a trailer.
Most always use white or chartreuse and white skirt with a 4” trailer in white.

In coming or out going tides are best.
Early morning or late evening are best.
Rat-l-traps stick baits and chartreuse and white buck tails with 6” white twister tail attached.
If you are fly fishing, try Clouser minnow chartreuse and white with a 10 ft. sink tip

I don’t think it makes much difference.
My way of thinking is that the fish are wet anyway so rain don’t make a difference to them.
Barometric pressure means more than rain or no rain.

First off, I never heard of a 5x fly line? There are different size leaders in x sizes. If you are using a 5x leader then just add a length of 5 c tippet to it.
Forget about the math.

All part of the sport.
If we didn’t loose lures hooks and sinkers, the tackle companies would be out of business.
Salesrep
No, only between the ears.
If you think so, then change color.

Hope they were all released to fight another day Mike.
Nice fish, thanks for sharing.
Salesrep
Nice, thanks for letting it go to fight another day and to make another angler happy and hope he or she will do the same.

Streamers are meant to be stripped to imitate a bait fish not an insect.
My thoughts anyway.
Salesrep
A 9ft. 5wt. is the most popular fly rod sold. That would be my choice.
There must be a reason for it.
