Bob,
My buddy Ron fished it last week and found it slow for all species. They decided to wait two weeks and then hit it again.
Jim
Good job Todd. I am heading to Lake Powell tomorrow for three weeks. Greaywullf is coming for a few days. Then we'll be back on Roosevelt and Apache.
Monofilament has been the dependable standby for more than fifty years. It's inexpensive and readily available. Fluorocarbon is supposedly nearly invisible or less visible to fish but more expensive. I use monofilament for top water because it floats. Fluorocarbon for crank baits because it sinks or at least has neutral boyancy. I'm sure others can explain it better than I.
Ed,
Just for kicks consider trying 15 pound braid with an eight pound fluoro or pline leader on one of your reels.I don't fight line twist as much with that setup as I did with mono. I stay away from spider wire braid
Jim
Welcome Bob.
Grew up in Bloomington so I am familiar with Spencer. Should be morel season about now

Good on you Mr. Thomas.

Ed,
I went through this with my wife Betty during COVID. I understand and emphasize.

I second Saw on this one. Welcome Chuck.
Plumbob,
I read this just after my Sunday dinner. Nearly lost it.
Thank you,
Jim
RG,
Look up yellow bass. I've caught them in Saguaro and Apache.
Jim
Google Fishing with Gary Senft or Fishing with Johnny Johnson. Both have done numerous shows on Saguaro Lake.
Another option is to hire a local guide to take you out for a day. It is a great way to get a head start. And remember to pick his brain for different techniques for each season.
Tinman,
Where are you fishing? Do you have a boat? What is your target species?
