I've relocated to Littleton and I am an avid fisherman and I understand Chatfield Res has a good population of Walleye...I know the bite's not on yet, but any info would be helpful.
We don,t have these fish in Ma.

Welcome to the stage Newtoarea, walleye you can catch just about anytime if you have open water. Fish deep with live minnows or worms on jigs bouncing the bottom. You might call local bait shops and talk with them. You tube and Google are great resources also. Good luck and share your pics 👍
Another option is to hire a local guide to take you out for a day. It is a great way to get a head start. And remember to pick his brain for different techniques for each season.
Thanks Jim......I learnt long ago to talk to locals and I've got a pretty good idea on Walleye habits..etc. Its just that the " bite " hasn 't happened yet at Chatfield.......still a little early after ice off.
Appreciate your reply and may good fishing find you.

Thank you Sir and you also. Remember to share your pics man
Catch walleyes year round . Just gotta find them.
I was working Chatfield last year and was lucky enough to have an esteemed local guide tell me when the bite turned on. I’m also gonna try to catch it this year, but I won’t have many chances to go test it. Walking the dam at night is the move.
FishBrain seems to think they’re turning up.
Wish it were true.....the " bite" is not too far away....maybe next week, temps near 60
I totally agree on the fishing guide comment. I used to think it would cost too much money, then I moved to Colorado, took advice to get a guide for half a day to learn fly fishing. I caught 4 fish and learned a HUGE amount about how deep to fish, how to high stick, why certain flies were used in those conditions, how to rig my line, etc. After that, each time I went I caught fish and kept practicing what he taught me.
The bite hits around the 15th throw end of April. That's there spawn . I do pretty good the first of April threw about mid-June. I also catch a lot of Small and White Bass at same time. Mid June I start after those big Cats.
