I tried a new lake (Bartlett) on Wed and got skunked. So went back to Saguro yesterday. 9 nice bass and whatever this is? I guess it's a striped bass but it was so fat it looked like a crappie.

The largest bass was 20.5 inches and weighed 8.1 pounds. Am I in heaven?

Nice catching and wow, 8.1 lbs is a monster. I think the one bass in question is a hybrid striper, they’re nice to catch and could reach double digits in lbs.

Wow, more monsters R. Nice job. 👍🏻 I believe that's a White Bass, but I could be wrong. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks DV! I think you are right on the hybrid striper. I looked that up and found some pics on line. The broken stripes are a tell.

DVTracker thought hybrid striped bass. Cross between a white bass and striper. Also called a "wiper". I looked it up on line. The tell is the broken stripe you see on his body.

If you have Wipers there R, then he's probably right.

RG,
Look up yellow bass. I've caught them in Saguaro and Apache.

The “wipers” are common here in Lawrence at Clinton Lake.

Hmmm...now I think it might be a yellow bass. It does have some yellow in it and also the broken stripe.

Thanks for all the ideas.
