According to the news I'm thinking the answer is no too many bad people with guns

Well there are many "good" people that don't have any business having a gun!

If you're not in a spot that regularly holds Bass, then you have to call them in, so to speak. Topwater usually works at night, to draw fish to you. Buzzbaits, poppers, and Jitterbugs, create enough noise to lure prowling Bass to investigate the source. Give it a try. Especially in the ponds.

Also remember that living in Florida and "calling" fish will also call gators too! They are more active at night!

On Tuesday I was fishing with 5 inch white yum worms. Bowfins kept biting them in half, I just adjusted them again on the hook and kept going. Caught my biggest one on a 2 inch piece that I reused. You just never know. If I didn't get any bites after a few cast then I'd replace them. Biggest that day was about 20 inches!

I had a run with a gator just back in August. Was reeling in a bowfin in a creek that was just 10 feet wide, when I heard a splash. I looked over and a 5-6 foot gator was going for my fish. Well I made a run up the bank dragging the bowfin behind me. That son of a b***h lunged for the fish and by chance also got the strap on my backpack with all my tackle in it! Needless to say he swam off with both the bowfin and my backpack with about $150.00 of tackle. My stuff was never seen again. I had to put my fishing season on hold until I restocked tackle. I know the gator was just trying to get some easy food and not me but he still scared the crap out of me!!!!

How do you guys keep warm and dry when out on the water in cold weather?

Winter is starting to show up here in my state and I don’t want to pack up my kayaks until the spring.

I’d like to get out and fish all year around.

I use a local guy here, he fixes rods in his garage. Sometimes it is good to stay local for faster turnaround. Try looking on local craigslist in your area, you never know who you'll find there.

Gentlemen and Ladies any suggestions on what to throw would be appreciated
Thanks

I have caught my biggest 2 largemouth bass with a YUM 9" pumpkin color worm. Also use a #4 offset worm hook with it. @ bass were 8 lb. 4 oz and 8 lb.7 oz. used a hand held digital scale so take it for what it's worth. Also caught during late spawn.

I have to have quiet, just because I like to hear any splashing of gators that may be near-by.

Straight WD-40

I used to use WD-40 on chicken breast cut in small chunks years back.We used to catch weakfish on it, before you could only keep 1 in New Jersey. I would cut it a day or 2 before I went fishing to let it soak in. Brother and I would do well off jetty at Reeds Beach.
