Fish are like any other food. Some people like tomatoes, some don't. Some like peas/broccoli, some don't and so on.......
Some like fish, some don't. Some like certain kinds of fish, others like different kinds.
It's all u to the person eating it. You like it or you don't.
My first catfish was frozen and when cooked, tasted terrible. I am now teaching myself to like it.
As a kid, most people didn't like mushrooms or avocados, etc... but, somehow when they grew up
they all of a sudden liked them. In short.....taste is acquired.
Three years ago, I did not like avocados or quacamole at all. I made a new years resolution to
learn to like them and it only took 6 avocados to do the trick.
I found you can hardly ever find time....you have to make time.
I have a trailer. Where do I go to catch fish like this?
By the way, what was the daily limit?

A few years ago, went fishing in the San Francisco Bay.
three of us caught some halibut and some small sharks.
One of us (not me) caught 3 pelicans.
We were a couple of hundred yards from Alcatraz.....so....for some time we
called our friend the "Birdman of Alcatraz.

Well worth the trip all by itself.
Small hint: if you use real small hooks, you will mostly catch small fish.
Larger hook, the little guys can't swallow them

You can buy a lifetime license at any age. I don't do it because I am 78 years old already.
I think a lifetime is about $350.00 in California
