When I,was much younger, I heard of a young man said that he would never scuba dive again in the river below Denison Dan because of the large fish he saw. Catfish if my memory is correct.

Reminded me when I was a young man in and a friend my same age (19-20), his younger brother (6’5”) headed to San Antonio in a 64 yellow Olds Cutlass to see their aunt and cousin. The cousin had a hobby of collecting snakes. The afternoon of our arrival from north Texas we spent watching the cousin ahow off his snakes. He had a couple of cobras in separate cages. He got one of them agitated then would pass his hand like a pendulum motion in front of the open cobra cage. The snake would strike and miss every time. If that wasn’t enough, he helped a boa shes its skin. All that was just to setup the rest of the story. The next morning, the cousin, my friend (6’0” maybe), me (6’2”) and the tall little brother head to Mexico in pursuit of great drinks, food, and especially, shell I say inexpensive) senoritas. We didn’t strike on any of the targets and headed back in the wee small hours of the morning with me and the tall brother in the back seat of the Cutlass struggling for a place to put our legs. The older cousin did the driving at around 80-90,while the rest of us slept. That is until he jerked the wheel, slammed on the brakes, got out and went back and picked up a snake. He then, opened the trunk, pulled out a toe (gunny) sack and put the snake it, then in the trunk. He headed us back to SA while we all slept. At sometime the long legged brother put his legs between the two front seats. His foot must have nudged his older brother as the old brother came up out of the front seat slapping between the seats. He had questioned the cousin about the snake possibly getting out of the toe sack and had been dreaming that the snake had indeed escaped.

My biggest spends nowadays is the lure that catches the fish, I have one I get at Walmart, 2 for just over $1 and keep plenty in hand as they're my main bass lure. I have plenty of everything else so it's only bait I need to purchase now

What is the lure?

I am not a fan of telescoping rods. Wouldn’t a 6’-6.5’ rod fit nicely in your Cr-V? I put 7’ rods in my Honda Crosstour. I would also suggest you consider keeping all your tackle in your car all the time as there are just too many break-ins. Tight lines.
