Welcome to the stage Steph, the way things work here is to stay away from political talk, the main section is mostly all fishing talk, the chit chat section is all topics except politics, and the attic section is where we go when something is not proper for the other 2 sections.
Other thing to remember is when replying to someone elses post, hit the quote reply section. That way we know who you are talking to.
