Fished a good size pond in Colorado this morning that looked to me to be ideal: stained water, about 2-3 foot of visibility, lots of bait fish activity along the edges, muddy bottom with scattered rocks and a few small limbs, and short edge grass extending into the water a few feet all the way around. Only issue was no shade, but the water looked to get decently deep (5'+) not far off from shore.
We got there about 10am. clear skies and about 70 degrees. Fished for 2 hours and didn't see a single bass nor get so much as a nibble. Was using a 5" Green Pumpkin Magic Yamamoto Senko on 12lb fluorocarbon on a weightless Texas rig (5/0 EWG). Walked halfway around casting as far out as I could then slowly working it back (let it sink to the bottom, pick it up a little, a few quick jerks, then let it sink to the bottom again.) Targeted rocks and any other cover I saw.
Never saw anything that would indicate there were bass in the pond. None hiding in the grass along the shoreline, none around any cover, and nothing showed any interest in my bait at all. Is it possible there just weren't any bass in the pond, or do you all think I was doing something wrong? Appreciate any suggestions.

Sounds like a typical summer day. You be best to either go earlier in the morning or just before it gets dark in the evening. If the worm fishing does not work, try a GT 360 search bait (swimbait) to find where the bass are. If that does not work try an (electric chicken) baby shad or a yellow coach dog rooster tail & move around. Usually if you fish a wacky rig black/blue Senko on a weedless hook with O ring deep you will get results. If not of this works try a Rebel brown cricket/grasshopper lure on a slow retrieve. I am also a pond angler so getting skunked happens at times especially in the summer. Fish in the shade, on the edge of grasses, around wood, or deep. Like you bass love air conditioning during the summer.
