What do you do to become better bass anglers?

We have been spending a lot of time talking shop and asking ourselves: what does it really take to become a better bass angler?
For us, Bass fishing takes a self-sacrificial level of dedication, it isn’t for everybody. It’s for people who like to roll up their sleeves, run down the lake and keep casting until the sun goes down. It’s for people who wake up at 4:30am on wet, windy, cold mornings; look at themselves in the mirror and say “I’m gonna get after ’ em today.”
In all the noise of magic lures and pro-tips what do you think really helps you to be a better bass angler?

I always tell new people to keep trying new techniques. One of the things I encourage people to do to "get outside their comfort zone" is to learn to cast with both hands. You should be able to cast, flip, skip, and pitch with the reel in either hand. We all know you get into those weird situations where you have to cast with your off-hand because you're near some weird cover, so I always encourage people to get proficient at it.
It also gives you a unique perspective on how to target different pieces of cover.

The thing that got me catching bass consistently was paying less time thinking about presentations and more time thinking about bass behavior and habitat. Finding bass always seems harder then getting them to bite for me.

Learning two things, the life cycle of the lakes I fish and seasonal bass behavior. My most prized possession isn't the absolutely ridiculous amount of tackle I've aquired over the years, it's a 75 cent notebook.

Time on the water. There is no substitute and that's what helps you get in sync with where they are and what they want. You can play around with presentation and baits all you want but you can't do it from the couch.

I found out by trying different things! Just because something worked yesterday is not so today! A different spot, different depth, etc. The other day I used tried and true methods (worms,jigs,neko rigged, wacky rigged, jerk baits,crank baits, swim baits, everything!) nothing worked and I know how! I finally tied on a simple #4 silver Vibrex spinner. Caught those largemouths on almost every cast! They wouldn’t even sniff anything else! Just goes to show ya!

Switch to targeting Brown Trout. Bass are a snap after four or five years of that.

Study, study, study... then apply! Study maps, Google Earth, Navionics, bass behavior, feeding habits, forage from lake to lake, practice practice practice ( time on the water ), watch and read all things bass fishing, understand different lure applications... the list can go on and on, practice casting in your yard or park. Also, I would highly suggest subscribing to Tactical Bassin on YouTube. In my opinion, the most consistently informative, most educational bass fishing site one could ever subscribe to... 🏄🏼♂️🎣

No. 1 is know your body of water. Depth, Temp. time of year, baitfish available to the bass in your area. and watch a lot of U-tube. You learn the most from other bass fisherman who have been doing it for years.

True! Fish with guys/gals that are obviously more advanced than you... you will learn a ton!🏄🏼♂️🎣
