I’m trying to get some bass fishing done before the ponds near my house I’ve over next month. Any tackle tips or fishing tips are all helpful. Currently using a ned rig for now.

LOW SLOW AND SMALL
Obviously these are not the only ways to catch fish. I’ve caught plenty reeling too fast or with a big bait, but those 3 are the most effective

I wish I could help you. When it gets cold here the bass are really picky so I focus on the browns and rainbows. I was gonna ask the same question.
There are 3 baits you can use: 1. rooster tail 2. baby shad 3. 5" worm with paddle tail rigged with round jighead (green pumpkin). Chartreuse is a good color. And yes, fish it slow. Don't give up on the wacky rigged weedless Senko either. Find where the fish are located 1st. Usually in the middle of the pond deep, vegetation or timber. Rocks are not bad either for they seek warmth. Fish early in the morning or just before it gets dark. I prefer the night. Use baits you have confidence in. Move around a lot.
It's around 30F for the high right now. You think that'll work? Big ass river (snake) not a pond.
If it is 30 degrees and a river you might think about a gold fluttering spoon. I caught an 8 lb. bass on a freezing cold night. In that weather to be honest you will have to make a lot of casts. Fish nothing else but this until you catch a fish to develop confidence and develop a technique. A lipless crank like a Rat-L-Trap (chrome/black) might not hurt either. Good luck!
take the redeye to FLA. or CUBA.
