One of the benefits I'm lovin now,
Is livin so close to my lake.
I've never been lazy,
But work's goin crazy,
And sometimes a boy needs a break.
I've heard retirement is worth the wait,
You work all your life, then quit.
But if you don't plan,
You have to work, man,
Then go fish, if just for a bit.
When mama got home, she saw me exhausted,
My clothes all dirty from stuff,
She knew what I needed,
And so I conceded,
That fishin a while was enough.
At 1st it was choppy and pollen a flyin,
The fish should be active, I thought.
But east wind was blowin,
So catchin was slowin,
But sorry I went, I am not.

After an hour drive the boat would not start. Pulled it out and tried for about 10 minutes. Finely got it running and headed out of Blacks Fish Camp to catch some catfish. Well the white caps were coming over the bow so I headed back to the landing like a whipped puppy. Didn't give up. Loaded the boat and went to the hatchery where the wind was blocked by the trees. Got 5,but it took about an Hour and a half. Picked up and went in the stump field in 3 1/2 ft. of water. Got much better. Caught 11 more in an hour. Went to pick up the back anchor and it was stuck under a stump. Tried everything but it was not budging. Tied a buoy to it and tossed it over so I could get the bow anchor lose and had the same problem. Took awhile but got both in the boat and went home to clean fish. Yes I did enjoy the trip. Went fishing in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a cold, sunny day with a nor’easter small craft advisory and incoming tide. Ocean was very rough with no surfers. Few boats were on the water and few fishermen were on the jetty. Two spear fishermen shot 3 blackfish and a striped bass. Oystercatchers, osprey, loons, cormorants and gulls were nearby. A seal pup was sleeping on the beach when I arrived and still there when I left. I reported it to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, NJ. Caught, tagged and released 2 30” bluefish to 9 lbs with a very old #2 stainless steel Japanese metal squid during the early bite. Many big blues were caught over the fence. I took lots of photos.

Hello stagers,still alive and fishing,I understand some are asking about the Meet N Greet well there is not as much to speak of this year as there was last year, there was basically zero interest in the T-shirt, sales or the decal sales, which the profits would go towards the bass pro card I was planning on raffling off,but with no T-shirt sales, that means no profits, that means no excess money to buy bass pro shop with, so other than just the camping and fishing that is basically all that is going on as far as a discussion of it, if you have any questions, please send me a message and I will do everything I can answer it, everything is still a go,but like I said, there’s just less to talk about than last year, we are still fishing every weekend and during the week, my playground as of lately, with the fish spawning,is River Front Park, in this particular post, I threw in the pictures of the fish I have caught in the past 3 fishing outings at River Front Park, Matt is still killing it as usual and I am still trying to catch up, lol, hope everybody is having good fishing outings and I hope everybody is doing well, if you have questions about the meet and greet, please hit me up otherwise I am looking forward to seeing everybody in Clearlake🎣
