One of the benefits I'm lovin now,
Is livin so close to my lake.
I've never been lazy,
But work's goin crazy,
And sometimes a boy needs a break.
I've heard retirement is worth the wait,
You work all your life, then quit.
But if you don't plan,
You have to work, man,
Then go fish, if just for a bit.
When mama got home, she saw me exhausted,
My clothes all dirty from stuff,
She knew what I needed,
And so I conceded,
That fishin a while was enough.
At 1st it was choppy and pollen a flyin,
The fish should be active, I thought.
But east wind was blowin,
So catchin was slowin,
But sorry I went, I am not.

Beautiful pics and great βpomeβ, Mike!
That poem was SO good and your scenic photos show the real beauty of southern Missouri.

Another great poem Mike. What is that plant in the first pic. Never seen it before.

It's some sort of honeysuckle, but must be pretty rare. I've never been close enough to snag a cutting or see if it stinks good like other honeysuckle plants. Thanks for kudos.

Thank you, friend. It's awesome here.

Very nice, thank you.
I'd say you're welcome, but someone much grander than I is responsible for the nature stuff. I'm just a dorky pome writer.

Y'know what? Every day here is a blessing that I never thought I'd get to enjoy again. I really didn't feel like fishin yesterday (only a very tired fisheratin person would understand that one), but each time I go when I'm feelin less-than, I get a system reboot that's hard to explain. I'm glad I can bring a smile to your fuzzy self.
Them pomes make me smileππππππππ
I get the same recharge from bobbing along out there weather I catch or not!
Thanks for post!

It is truly a gift that not everyone understands brother. In fact I'm gonna spend a couple hours rebootin, tomorrow. π
