They did NOT "complete me", they bullied their way with most of the important decisions (which house or vehicle to buy, where & when to vacation, etc.), spent MY money freely.... while occasionally hiding their own income, "decorated" the house to THEIR liking, ignoring the fact that I am A.S.I.D. certified as an interior designer (!) and built every wooden piece of furniture their little hearts desired.

Y'all just made better picks than me, it seems. Good on 'ya.

God, I wish I had a way to get back that 26 years (and the ~$750k in the 2 houses they got in the divorce settlements !).... the last nearly 15 years has been SO PEACEFUL AND CAREFREE*....and hell, I shop, cook, and clean better than either one ever did !

Lake Five? Is that a reference or an actual lake name? Didn't see it on the google map.

Lake Five is a small lake on County Line Road Just West of Hwy 164, about 10 miles Northeast of Hartland.

Does anyone have knowledge or experience about fishing around Hartland Wisconsin? My daughter just moved there, no boat to go on the lakes. Pewaukee lake seems to be a good size. Pine lake and Nagawicka lake are there too. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hartland is an area of good fishing lakes and the three mentioned are among the best. Beaver lake has a kayak launch.... I would check it out to see if there is good shore fishing too.

Looking to add the ned rig to my arsenal for the upcoming season. I’ve got a number of 6.5 medium heavy fast action rods with some quality reels (Tatula). I’ve read that my current setups may be a bit much for the lighter action of the ned rig.

What do you use? Is a new spinning combo my best approach? Or should I be looking for a finesse baitcaster combo to get the job done? Or am I okay with my current gear?

Please share your thoughts. And share the gear you prefer as well. I’m open to anything that will get me a tight line. ✌️

I'm using a Fenwick 6'9" medium lite spinning rod for Ned Rig. I've caught up to a 20" Largemoth with it. Works great.

Hi all, I am looking at getting into kayak fishing. Getting tired of being stuck to the bank or friends' boats. I have somewhat of a list boiled down and would love some feedback. I'm looking at spending no more than $800. Also would love to be able to stand sometimes while fishing. Let me know what you guys think as well as any other suggestions you have! Thank you!

Edit: I will be fishing in a mix of lakes and slower rivers, nothing too big. I’m 5’9 160 lbs and pretty athletic so my balance is pretty good. Just a little background to help out.

Pelican "The Catch 100"

Vibe "Yellowfin 120"

Vibe "Yellowfin 100"

Vibe "Sea Ghost 110" (A little out of budget but I'm a fan)

3 Waters "Big Fish 105" (Again, a little out of budget)

FeelFree "Moken 10 Standard V2"

FeelFree "Moken 10 Lite"

Watch videos on youtube for Headwaters Kayaks. Your choices are all good for paddle kayaks.

Sometimes it’s just easier to use an old school spincaster. Except this doesn’t seem to be old school. 5.1 to 1 ratio. 8+1 bearings. Anyone else tried one ?

I bought one for my wife and she has not used it yet. I may try it....

I'm a greenhorn at this posting business, but I have been fishing in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin since I was knee high to a wagon rut. Primarily, I like going after Walleye everywhere, or Coho Salmon in Lake Superior. Occasionally, I fish Lake Michigan for King Salmon. I know about enough to be dangerous, so if anyone has wisdom to offer about these fisheries, I would be most grateful for your input.
Thanks,
Jack Salman

Welcome to the Forum Jack. I live in southern Wisconsin. It looks like you're in a great area for fishing.

Don't come to Wisconsin. Some here don't have your high standards.

The Porkies is a shortened local "reference name" for the Porcupine Mountains that run along a short section of the Southerly shoreline of Lake Superior between Presque Isle and Union Bay in far Northwestern Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Awesome region and quite rugged. The "mountains" are not the sky scrapers you think of when talking about the Rockies...for instance. A few more typical snapshots....

I have fished at Presque Isle But never in the U P. Thanks for the information. It looks like a great place to fish.
