I'm a greenhorn at this posting business, but I have been fishing in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin since I was knee high to a wagon rut. Primarily, I like going after Walleye everywhere, or Coho Salmon in Lake Superior. Occasionally, I fish Lake Michigan for King Salmon. I know about enough to be dangerous, so if anyone has wisdom to offer about these fisheries, I would be most grateful for your input.
Thanks,
Jack Salman

Good mornin', Jack, and welcome to the Forum. It looks like you have most everything figured out. We are glad to have you on board. We do have quite a few UP members.

Welcome to the Forum Jack. I live in southern Wisconsin. It looks like you're in a great area for fishing.
Mike
It's about 90 minutes to Lake Superior or Lake Michigan from here and there are several lakes and streams in between.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Hi Fly Guy,
I can see what your holding in the photo, but it looks like some kind of award. Guessing it is for a record fish?

Welcome to the Stage Jack, from New England.
Thanks. I hope the fishing weather in New England is not as wet as it has been around here lately. It warmed up enough for the smelt to start staging up at the river mouths in Lake Superior, but it cooled back down and I believe it stopped the run. Sea temp is about 35 degrees in the Keweenaw Bay.

Welcome to the Fishing Stage, Jack Salman!! Just NOW noticed that you've "joined us", as a result of your post on another "thread", I hadda "click on your name" to see where you're at & "what you're all ABOUT"... Unfortunately, I can't offer any advice or useful information regarding your area. Just wanted to "extend a warm welcome"!
Thanks. Like I said, I don't know what I'm talking about for the most part. I have caught some fish in my many years on the planet. I used to fish the streams pretty hard when I was a younger man, mostly for brook trout, browns and rainbows. I love the battle of a King Salmon and pure violence of the hit. We sell artesian water through Kroger under their Simple Truth label. We bottle it right here on my property. We can bottle 5 million bottles per month, if needed. My son runs the plant, my wife runs the office, and I run the downriggers. So, that's about who I am. Getting ready to try dipping smelt for the weekend. Have fun!

Well Sir, it's a pleasure to "make your acquaintance"! ¿Ya "finally figured how to burn the water", huh? (Glad for you!) When I read about your family's enterprise, it caused me to recall 2 "bits of" recollections...
The first thing that came to mind, was Merle Haggard's song: "Rainbow Stew"... Then, I'd become mindful of an artesian well I'd pitched my tent near to, in an orange grove, outside of Labelle, FL; 35 or so years ago. (I was pruning citrus trees & sleeping in the grove, AND drinking that "sulphur-water") {Smelt just like "rotten eggs", but, the owner of the land, demonstrated to me that it was OK to drink; by drinking some in front of me.} ... ¿Do you own your own "blow-molder", to create those jugs? (I'm GUESSING that you'd just about HAVE to, with THAT kind of "capacity".)
We do not blow bottles. We buy them and ship them from Illinois. Our water doesn't have any sulfur taste. We missed first place by one point in the world's biggest water tasting contest in Berkley Springs W. Virginia. We only sell Liter and half Liter bottles. No jugs. We compete with the high-end imports.
