Look and you will see. Springers are about best fish available in this region.

"Springers" are Chinook salmon. Two runs/year, consensus has it that Columbia Springers are the best-tasting salmon the PNW has...I wish we had a sockeye run to be able to compare them side by side !
They're probably out at Buoy 10 and heading inland soon, might already be, haven't checked in a few days. Check with Fisherman's Marine or FishField for their info.
Outdoor GPS, a show on NBCSportsNW has river levels, fish counts, live "on-the-river reports", rigging advice, etc. Thur & Fri @ 7pm, if no Blazers game, Sat & Sun @8am, for some specific to your area reports.
Good luck and watch out for the damn sea lions !

We tried last Thursday for few hours in St Helens area and bit windy made it hard to troll effectively. Finally saw few fish on the fish finder in Multn Channel ( lower ) but wind was pain once again. Very few boats and very little fish on sonar so I will say it was beyond slow down in that area Thursday last week in late afternoon.

Jer, is the bouy 10 opening over for the spring? I have saw photos of the boats at bouy 10 looks like combat fishing in a boat. But its worth it to get one. I have tasted copper river kings and sockeye. They are very good. I wonder are the bouy 10 fish better? Ricky Sitka

I subscribe to the Guides Forecast. Bob Reese gives a forecast of all the main rivers in the Northwest every week. He has affiliate guides that he gets a lot of info from. You can subscribe for free or become a paid member for around $25 a year. The paid membership is more complete and will give more info on all rivers.
