I have 5, all were teens at the same time. Not one day out of any month spent without PMS. It was a constant war zone. Even work was a refuge....... Just sayin'

Wolfie I had 7 sisters 3 younger, 4 older, being in the middle, I caught hell all the time, until I left home for the army. Had to go fishing to get away from it. Now sisters argue over the fish I filet. Have to alternate who gets them. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

I received a KastKing tackle bag and some of their Plano boxes for Christmas and the quality of the bag seems good. I had not heard of KastKing so started poking around their site and found their rods and reels. They seem to be quality, and the price is right in my wheelhouse. I’m looking at the Perigee II rod and the Sharky III reel. Anyone have any experience with these? The reviews seem to either be raving or dismal, looking for any other real world reviews. Will be using it bass, looking at a small Brutus setup for panfish/trout.

Thanks!

I bought 2 Sharkylll liked them enough to order 6 more to give as Christmas gifts a year ago. Every one loves them. Very smooth reel, smooth drag. The difference between the 2000 and 3000 is basically the 3000 has a larger spool. They are close to the same weight. I have Shimanos and the kastking is as smooth or smoother. You wont be disappointed. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

A few steps in the way that I make mine

Good work, curious how long from nose to tail. I dont fish for muskie, other people I know do, and they ust some huge baits. 12 inch or more. My old arms can't take that heavy casting. Again good work. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

I have used Abu Garcia Ambassador teels sinse 1960's. Still own all that I've bought, 4600, 4601 5000, 5500,and 5501, C3 & C4 models. The older reels are a little heavy, but all still work as new. I clean them regularly, and the only part I have replaced is a pall. I have tried using low profile reels, never really felt comfortable with them. The Ambassador was considered the elite reel when first introduced. It's strong, reliable, some of mine are 50+ years old. I'm probably a little biased but they're what I'm used to. Keep fishing. You can also use those brown jersy gloves to get a better grip on the fish. I haven't tried the gloves with the plastic dots, they should work also. A hand towel helps also. If the fish has teeth you will definitely need a pair of needle nose pliars. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Am I the only one using the I improved clinch?

You are not alone. Used it for 60 years. I flip, pitch heavy baits a lot with heavy mono, 17- 30# When tying I run the line through the eye of hook twice, and tie normally. The double loop in the eye helps to keep the knot from sliding to the side keeping the bait running true, and in line, Also helps prevent line twist, when tied correctly, and tight. Any smaller line I'll use clinch or a slip knot. Occasionaly I'll have line break, but never in the knot. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Hack,
I am in the process of registering with the VA just for the vaccine. I have not registered previously, trying to save their services for vets who might not have Medicare and a supplement and might need them more than I.

Registering with the VA IS EXTREMELY important. Because someone else might need it isn't a valid reason. Being registered reduces a lot of problems. If something happens that leaves you unable to answer questions, that information is already there. Even though you have no plans to use it, dosent mean you won't need to use the benefits. Lots of Veterans register and never recieve or need the service. Register and keep your options open. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

First of all I'm lucky to be able to protect and garage my boat. Looking forward to warmer days. At this point I feel good getting it out once in a week. I moved into a newer home that has taken a lot of my time upgrading mainly outside. This year looks promising for more fishing time. If anyone thinks they would like to experience fishing ky lake or barkley give me a shout.

I've never been on Ky, or Barkley, but I always wanted too. Crappie and Walleye my favorite food fish. Not many crappie in my home lake now, so i don't fish for them much. Might take you up on that offer

I used to keep mine in my wallet but now they're more like receipts instead of cards. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I'm from California so we have to carry it on our person whenever we're fishing.

I keep my license in my wallet along with my boating certificate, sometimes I fish in other peoples boat. My boat registration, paperwork is always in the dash box. When I'm on the water my wallet goes there also. If you are checked it's all in one spot, easy to get to. Keep fishing

Every thing from all the above. When you hget your boat home, practice backing it into youe driveway from the street. Or if you have room in your yard around shrubbery plant beds, or even into where you are going to store the boat. I have had to put my boat into some very tight, little room on each side. I've also had people ask me to put theirs in the water. Depended on the situation if i did or didn't. Don't try to do it fast until you get some practice. The shorter your tow vehicle, the faster the trailer will turn. 4 door longbed pickup truck with a short trailer can be fustrating. If you have never backed a trailer before maybe a friend to give you some instructions. Once you learn it becomes second nature. Enjoy your boat, time on the water, and be safe and wear your PFD. I can't see clearly in the photo, every thing looks to be freshwater baits, targeting bass. Texas rig, Carolina rig, drop shot, maybe shaky head. Before buying on line next time, know what you want, you can be buying somethings that you might never use. Keep fishing DEEJAY

The only pay to fish areas here are privately owned. Access to ramps may be a fee, parks, camp grounds, marinas, usually 2to3 $. Most state maintained ramps, or TVA Ramps, Or Dept of Game and Fish are free. In N.C. The only times I've paid to park, or launch a boat was at Parks, Marinas, privately owned ramps. Camping at a campground, ramp is covered by camping fee. Keep fishing
