Palomar for braid. Trilene or a loop knot for mono.

Depends. I use the palomar and the trilene twist knot on a regular basis, but then I also use the snell knot for tubes and some creature baits. If you have not tried the snell knot, it's great at making the hook go straight up on the hook set.

Palomar except when I’m using a large crank bait or topwater although I use an authentic snell (tag end buried under the wraps) when fishing for stripers with bait.

Uni Knot, since the early 1970's... I've used it on all manner of lures, including flies... Never had a problem with it.

I should have said : "while using mono..." It's been many years, since I'd had a reel full of braid of any sort (that I'd make use of).
