I agree Uni for me. It's probably more a habit than anything for me and I know there are better knots to be had. I use the double Uni also a lot to tie braid to leader. Just more wraps on the braid. Always holds for me. I don't like to use swivels to attach my leader so I can reel the line all the way through my guides if I want to use a bit longer leader. I do use a loop knot for my topwater. Helps the action. I fish the Chesapeake for just about everything, but of course Rockfish for the most part. Can't wait for Spring.

Am I the only one using the I improved clinch?
You are not alone. Used it for 60 years. I flip, pitch heavy baits a lot with heavy mono, 17- 30# When tying I run the line through the eye of hook twice, and tie normally. The double loop in the eye helps to keep the knot from sliding to the side keeping the bait running true, and in line, Also helps prevent line twist, when tied correctly, and tight. Any smaller line I'll use clinch or a slip knot. Occasionaly I'll have line break, but never in the knot. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Improved clinch knot. Never has failed me on mono, braid, or fluorocarbon. Have landed my share of large fish using it. Just my opinion. I’m sure there are other good ones as well.
I have never used anything other than improved clinch knot.
Hundreds (thousands ?) of fish, never had a knot "untie" or break at knot..... ever, .... regardless of line weight or type.
It ain't broke, no fix needed.
....... but y'all have fun, I was certainly was entertained one evening, watching the myriad of Youtube videos, having clamped an eyebolt to the coffee table and grabbed some cord......
I'll just be over here fishin', while you wish you had "practiced that 'new knot' a bit more" before you left home or maybe brought those stronger reading glasses !
