Here in Costa Rica, they are enamored with technology. You can buy your license on line and they send you your license in a PDF via email. You just have to remember to carry your phone.

All that has been said by others. And, be real familiar with how your boat handles before putting it in moving water. Current is a challenge not found in a lake. It’s similar to operating on a windy day.
Top of the list: HAVE FUN and CATCH A LOT OF FISH!

Tackle Warehouse was bought out by Bass Pro Shops, so I am saying they are ok.
Salesrep

That’s Sportsman’s Warehouse that was bought by Bass Pro.
Tackle Warehouse is privately owned.

I’ve bought from them. Never had a problem with the products they have sent so I can’t comment on their warranty.
Their prices are competitive and delivery has been prompt.

Same reason they tell you to wash down your boat and trailer before you move from one body of water to another. Keep the nasties from moving around.

I’ve caught a few fish that I had to follow down stream. Fortunately it’s always been in shallow water so I didn’t get too wet mostly because I was wearing my waders. This happens when I’ve been “out gunned”: fishing for smallish trout with my three weight and having a 15# salmon take my fly.
As others have suggested, adjust your drag such that the fish can pull line but you can feel like you have some control. It’s an experience thing.
Go get ‘em.

Nice fish. Great day. I’m from CA. Left in ‘82. So glad to hear that the runs are good.

Good catch. The bite sounds like it’s pretty slow but you overcame it.

I’ll say, “Thank You.” but it’s not to the fish, but to the Creator.

Yep, priced according to value offered. Texas has 350 miles of Gulf Coast and how many of your states can be placed inside Texas? Just Sayin...RJS

Well Mr. Samples, I’m from Alaska but retired in Costa Rica. No fee for fishing, hunting or trapping once you turn 60. I’m pretty sure you can put most of the US in Alaska. Just saying!
