For all of you avid fly fisherman. Just got a report from my brother in law up in Reno. He had one day where he caught 6 fish. Two biggies were 12lb, and 11lb. The others were dinks from 6-9 lbs. The week before he got a 15 lb
cuthroat. He is really killing it and has his fishiing down to a science based on temp, wind velocity and direction, plus a couple of other secrets. This here is a picture of him on his float with one of the nicer ones. Not quite the 15 pounder, but close.

Boy howdy, I guess he's got it down. What a nice fish.
Does he offer to take you out and let you catch some like that?

Nice fish he caught . You need to go with him.
Dinks, 6 to 9 lbs? No sympathy here, wow. Nice fish!
Beautiful fish. He certainly knows what he is doing.

Oh, I have an open offer to come any time. Part of the problem is that i am such a WHIMP when it comes to fishing in cold weather. He said it was around 40* and the water was close to the same. Still is hard to pass up that kind of catching.

Now that I can relate to. I don't like the cold weather anymore either.

That's a beautiful fish OBG, does he do as well in warmer weather? Maybe go fishing with him in the springtime. Thanks for the picture!
That particular lake was closed because of Covid, and just reopened in Nov. I did fish with him a couple of times there before he refined his technique and knowledge. I did O.K., but nothing that big or the quantity that he catches. We were shore fishing on ladders, very interesting. He has found a scholl offshore that he float tubes to and just knows it so well now. If everything ends with the pandemic thing, will shoot to go up there in spring or early summer. He has totally figured out the best days to fish it due to wind direction and strength. He is really an amaziing fisherman! He does do well in warmer weather if those winds are right.
It is amazing how one can forget about the cold with action like that. You will feel it when the fishing is over, you are putting all your stuff away and the adrenaline has dissipated. Great fish!
One of the other problems I have is cramping up. When you don't float tube (pontoon) a lot, and are kicking around for 4-6 hours my old body can't take too much. And that was in warmer weather and water. If you do it a lot, you would get use to it. But on short trips, by the time you do, it is time to go home. Sure wish I were at least 20-30 years younger.

Amazing! Nice fish, thanks for sharing. I have read fairly recent article about fishing from ladders. May have to put Pyramid on the bucket list.
They have a beach there and when the fish start running, you see someone on ladder about every 20 yds. The most I have seen is about 20 people all lined up. You use a kitchen ladder and wade out until you are up to your chest and set your ladder up. Usually a sandy bottom, so not too hard. Climb up to the second rung and start fishing. Some folks get pretty elaborate, with chairs and other luxuries. Really quite interesting.
The lake is owned by the Indians, and only a small portion is available to fish. I would say mabye about 4 miles of shore line, but that is just a guess. Some of the shoreline is rocky. Kermit, fishes primarily from the pontoon now, and avioids the crowd that way. And like I said he catches more and bigger fish that way.
Great fish, I’d love to catch some of his dinks
That Pyramid lake kicks out some nice trout!!
