Some people don't get the simple things in life. I don't have a son and always wanted one. I have a daughter who is a guide in Yosemite and is stronger than 99% of the men out there. I enjoy her stories.
You learned a lesson, only take people that are worthy of going out on the boat. I go with a friend who never lets me pay for anything, last time I fixed the issue with the gas tank so this will be the only way to pay him back.
We both enjoy each other company and sometimes we just have to move off some subjects.

I completely agree with this post. Everyone has an opinion and while I practice catch and release I try and minimize the damage to the fish. I also try and use Tungsten weight instead of lead and give away Tungsten to those willing to use it, if not I politely walk away.
Enjoy fishing! I have found out I sleep better at night when I spent some time at the lake. The last 2 times I went I didn't catch much, but it is better than watching the National News on TV.

Hi everyone,
It isn't just Newsom, all the environmentalist who live in houses made of wood are at fault as well. We as a country need to wake up to the damage and neglect we are doing this our home, planet Earth.
California is in a severe drought while other areas flood. We can get a helicopter to fly on Mars but unless it is oil, water doesn't flow through pipes.
I have written each representative about these issues and have offered assistance. I am trying to get a hold of Elon Musk as well.

Hi everyone,
I caught this last night at my local lake. I measured him at 10.25 inches. I was wondering what is the largest bluegill others have caught.

10.25 in bluegill

I retie my knots after every day of fishing. I also redo the leader line each time as well. Might be overdoing it, but ...

Hi there,
I retired about 7 months ago and love it. I retired early, yes I was fortunate. Enjoy your days, but the one thing you will notice is this huge load on your shoulders is gone. No more boss, customers, deadlines and dumb people at work. You will enjoy the workdays more than the weekend and will learn to go fishing when others are at work.
Ha, enjoy!

I agree with the idea of finding someone that does catch fish help you out at your location. If you are in Southern California I would help. 6 months ago my wife and I would catch stick fish. Last week we caught 35 fish one evening. We do catch and release all the time. No comments needed on this philosophy :)
I met a few fishermen there at my lake, some would happily provide advice others turn away. One guy had been at the same lake for 19 years and told me the entire history of the lake. Then he told me what to use, I bought it, then I saw the same guy 3 weeks later, he showed me how to use the setup. I caught a 3 lb Bass within 30 minutes.

Hi there,
I agree about Dick's Sporting goods. Don't waste your time there. Like the other user said too many reasons to list but extreme frustration.

Bass Pro shops has what you need and knowledgeable staff. What more do you need? Oh I know the perfect lure choice to catch more than a 4 lb bass in my local Orange County California lake :)

Hi Joe,
I recently joined the forums as well and live in OC. I heard about lake dixon as well for good fishing. I fish Irvine and Laguna Niguel. The other night I caught 35 bluegill and a few bass. I just do it for fun but want to try and land a bigger bass. If you ever fish those spots let me know. Irvine is a very tough hike and it's hot out there.
Laguna is sweet in early evening as it's a lot cooler.
Welcome and let me know bait tips, I want to move away from waxworms.
