I don't think you run braided line on the outside?
As long as the inside of eylet isn't damaged you're ok

Good subject on fly fishing which i have never tried.
However i wonder if a flycast line could be tied onto a spinning reel with a dry fly at the end and fished in the same manner?

I agree with you as I am a DIY guy too.
Saturday we got to Guasti for trout and i will jig with a diy paper clip version just to see.

oh ok that sounds logical.
I want to make one for my fishing buddy.
Retired marine corp nam vet, 76 yrs old and i takem fishing.
to get him outta the apts.
must be his weekly delight, getting outdoors and i listen to his war stories.
unless he meets other vets lakeside fishing too.
tomorrow saturday we go to Prado for trout, got a lightning the week before, good eats.

I am in the Inland Empire (San Bernardino County) and tried trout fishing the Regional Parks that get stocked with lightning and rainbow trout.
Such as Prado, Guasti, Glen Helen, Yucaipa and I have caught 3 after getting skunked 3 times.
My question is how can I rig my line with 2-3 hooks to increase my chances of catching a fish?
Is it legal?
Mice tails work as well as night crawlers or power bait.
When i skunk I look at it as therapy in the great outdoors. LOL!

FB has lots trout pages to follow. I see postings of huge trout caught. However too far for me. Closest is lake guasti rainbow and golden lightning trout same as DVR.

Andy, thanks for the info and my dream is backpacking and hiking PCT kennedy meadows fishing the kern river.
But have yet to do it. I can drive up there, park and hike in.

Andy, I saw post on FB Diamond Valley Lake got Lightning trout and Gregory stocked a week ago. Due to my Dr visits I cant fish until Saturday all day. Possibly Thu and Fri daybreak, but return by 1pm.
I'm free next week to try Gregory again.
