Yeah, Ed. I’ve been out 4 or 5 times with a guide on the north fork of the Lewis. But the steelhead bite has been pretty slow the last few years. Hopefully the Cowlits will be more productive and your guide puts you on some fish. Our guide has a 4person max. You’ll probably be side drifting with salmon eggs. So pretty easy as long as you end up with some somewhat experienced anglers. Good luck…

You will enjoy it but possibly not catch a fish. Early in run. Much to learn from guide, ask questions. Enjoy the NW but dress warm and dry.

Its February in the Pacific Northwest. Dress in layers and bring rain gear. I usually bring a boat bag (dry bag) on trips like this so I can have somewhere to keep my clothes dry. Might need to bring a lunch, depends on the guide.
Sounds like fun Ed. Looks like fun DD. I have done some floats in smaller setups usually was targeting Salmon. There should be plenty through the year guide opportunities to figure out or learn some of this regions water ways. Good Luck Ed. I hope you hook em like DDaves group did. Neibor here just went to Wilson River and ran a few sections near tide water and above. I haven’t went over and asked how he did.

It’ll be fun alright. Warm clothes, hot drinks and a camera. Oh and a fishing license😂. If it’s a good guide, which many of them are, you’ll catch fish if they’re there. Good luck and I’ll be looking forward to the pictures. Even if there’s no fish in em. My Grampa told me it’s fair that the game as well as the fish win 70% of the time. If they didn’t hunting and fishing would be over. Makes sense but enjoy every trip anyway.

Good luck, Ed. It sounds like a fun trip, stay warm and dry.
Take hot hands or hand warmers. They can change a very uncomfortable trip to a great trip.
