Went fishing at kiptopeke state park last Friday.
Surprised at the number of flounder being caught there. Mostly shorts but some up'to 22 inches
Now with the storms not sure if they’re still there

Recently found the boat ramp in Oyster Virginia on the eastern shore. Ramp is on the Oceanside and looking at a chart, there seems to be a lot of barrier islands nearby. Anyone on this site do any fishing from this area?
I’d like to chat and get some info if you don’t mind.
Thanx in advance

I enjoy fishing on a head boat. Haven't been able to find one. I live in Va. (Cobbs Creek), could you tell me where the head boat is located and perhaps the phone number. Thank you

There’s a head boat that runs out of the cherry stone camp ground right near cheriton va on the eastern shore.
Pretty good boat with a good captain. Boat is the miss Jennifer

I have always wanted to go fishing and recently over these last two years I been wanting to do so even more. Recently my friends and I had planned to go to Santa Monica Pier and try fishing there since none of us have fishing licenses and want to test the waters, the thing is none of us know what we’re doing, that being said I was hoping if anyone can help us figure out what we would need for this trial like what kind of things we should bring (I read that rods can be rented from a tackle shop they have on the pier but I’m still open for suggestions). If anyone has any great videos on fishing for clueless first timers I’d appreciate it if you shared with us too. Thanks for reading and the help!

Have boat will travel. New to Onancock area and getting ready to fish. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site.
I’m located near cape Charles and fish mostly near there. I’ve fished near the ships at kiptopeke for fluke in a kayak a few times with mixed results.
I’ve ventured out to the tunnel a few times also.
Come spring I’ll be fishing there again. I recommend gulp for bait as it seems to work better than squid or other bait.
I’m sure others will add their experiences

New to this forum and Im looking for a place to fish off the beach in the San Diego area.

Imperial beach , south of San Diego has a free fishing pier. I’ve seen folks catch fish there.there’s a beach further south from the pier where you could probably there too.

Silver strand park (with a parking fee) has lots of beach where folks fish.
Hope this helps

Point Loma has some party fishing boats too.
Good luck!

I’ve never fished Levittown lake .
I’ve fished peace valley in bucks county and core creek park but usually lake. Nockamixon near Quakertown.
I have a small Jon boat and come spring if things go well I check in with you to see if we can do some fishing together.
I’m primarily a salt water guy having spent summers in Jersey as a kid in wildwood. I still fish island beach but it’s a hike to get there.

I just retired. I have fished many years at the New Jersey Shore, but would like to learn fresh water since it's closer to me. I'm not experienced in fishing fresh cold water. SE Pa isn't known as a great fishing area, but I know that good fisherman can find fish. It's kind of an open topic, but I am interested in everything from trout, bass, panfish, cats, and you name it. Any suggestions for lures, or bait in cold water would be much appreciated. I understand the cold = slow concept, but don't know the freshwater version of it.

Thanks for any advice.

Lake nockamixen , NW of Philadelphia in bucks county is a large man made lake. It’s remote and there’s days when I don’t even see another boat all day.
Largemouth bass , striped bass , panfish and catfish. Google the lake and let me know what you think.

I will be fishing the Kelp beds off Point Loma for the first time this weekend. Anyone having luck out there? Suggestions?

I fished that area the other day on a party boat. Fishing bottom at 175 feet using squid for bait. Caught a few rockfish and hooked something that ran the length of the boat and broke the line on the anchor rode.
Mate on the boat said it was most likely a pacific black sea bass.
30 to 40 lb line with 6 to 8 ounces of weight to get to the bottom.

Lots of great fishing - fresh & salt on the Gulf coast. Lots of variety in terms of how crowded, types of neighborhoods, etc. if you want access to good Tarpon fishing pick Venice and further South.

Lived and worked in,Philadelphia most of my life . Tired,of crowds and traffic.
Heard fort Myers in winter has bad traffic.
Looked at Bonita springs and it looks to be a smaller and maybe less crowded area. What do you think ?
