Hello Virginia saltwater fishermen and women! So happy to have Virginia on the site! I just got my boat back from being serviced and looking forward to hunting down some fish soon. I fish in the Gwynn's Island area of the Chesapeake Bay mostly and occasionally in the Mobjack Bay area. Anybody fishing those areas? If so how's the catching?
Hello, Jim here, I fish all over Virginia , especially near Smithfield and rescue. Have you seen any Croakers or trout yet? Thanks.

I haven't seen any caught yet. I haven't gotten out on my boat yet but plan to in the next couple weeks.
My girlfriends dad has booked us a spot on a head boat out of Virginia Beach May 2nd targeting dogfish Shark, black sea bass, and cautog. Are these good eaters? I'm sure we'll get pointers from the crew, but does anyone have tactics or techniques that have worked for them? Thank you.
Good to see someone else fishing in my neck of the woods. We stay at a campground in Wake so we're right on the Rapp. Haven't put in our boat yet but did some surf fishing last weekend. Had 2 nice bites but no fish, it's better than the last couple weekends with no bites. Things are looking up though, we was out at night before high tide and the shrimp jumping and the schools of minnows at the shore means life is entering the river once again.
Any action at the rebuilt buckroe pier??
A coworker of mine went last week, he hasn't said a word about it so I don't think it was worth talking about. I'll ask him today though.
They are all good eating. Call the Virginia Beach Fishing center for rigging tips. It wii be bottom fishing with bait.
Thanks, never been there but tired of nothing but catfish farther north! Also when do the stripes hit the scene??
I was told that within the 3 hours he was at the pier no one caught anything.

Don't know about Dogfish Shark but Black Sea Bass and Tautog are great eating!
I enjoy fishing on a head boat. Haven't been able to find one. I live in Va. (Cobbs Creek), could you tell me where the head boat is located and perhaps the phone number. Thank you
