So we should be rude and not even welcome the guy? I guess some of us were raised to be polite. You're from California, why don't you answer his question???

Mas, that's the main reason I came back the 2nd day. Everyone was very friendly and seemed honestly interested in my background, experiences ,and interests. You don't see much of that anymore.
I'm very glad I did!

Has nothing to do with being rude, just trying to understand why someone would answer a question with no information about what the question is. I have fished up and down the coast from Fort Bragg to Monterey Caught surf Perch, Stripped Bass, Capazon, Rock Fish and Halibut all from the Rocks and Surf. My favorite bait to go to is Squid and Shrimp they manage to have the best success for me. Find areas where you can get close to water on Rocks and fish 🎣 close to deep pockets with short poles and strong lines. Good luck

Imperial beach , south of San Diego has a free fishing pier. I’ve seen folks catch fish there.there’s a beach further south from the pier where you could probably there too.

Silver strand park (with a parking fee) has lots of beach where folks fish.
Hope this helps

Point Loma has some party fishing boats too.
Good luck!

Come back to this post tomarrow or the next day and many times you will see that someone close to the area has responded with great info for the original subject. Just sayin

Hey Rush,
Plenty of great spots. Just about any stretch of sandy beach will do. Torrey Pines State park is a great place to start. Park in or near the park entrance booth Hwy 1 and pick a spot slightly north or south of it. If you walk further south down the beach you come to flat rock which is almost legendary as a local surf fishing hotspot. A little north up the hill is Solana Beach, my favorite. There are public access paths between the condos on the bluffs with long staircases down to the beach. Clear water, fewer people and plenty of inshore fish. Simplest is walk on to the beach in Pacific Beach. North of Crystal pier is fewer people. Just cast away and you are in!

(Lemme know if you are closer to North County and I can give you the spots I found to be good when I lived up there)
