Been tossing Sabiki rigs in Jamaica Bay and have been catching bucket full of Herring.. I pickle a couple and with most of them I rig them with a 9/0 hook that has wire leader on it. And then I freeze it to be used as bait come spring for Blue fish..
I been wears a fishing vest / lifejacket when I use my hip boots or waders.. Many times when I was in the water I helped fellow fishermen get back on their feet because they slipped on their behind.. I wish everyone a safe and healthy new year..

I have Penn reels that are 50 years old or older and they are all still functioning.. You know what I noticed with Penn reels is that over the years they have gotten quieter... But dollar for dollar they are the best made reels on the market..
I am a strictly Penn products fishermen. They are the best... Penn just warranted two fishing rods.. They were very respectful and helpful.. They shipped the new rods very quickly.. Now I will go out and purchase two new reels for my newly acquired spinning rods..
I have been fishing all the tides in Jamaica Bay area in Brooklyn NY and have caught plenty of Stripers and Blues... But the best time to fish is in the evening and at the mouth of an inlet or the end of the inlet... Best of luck and health to my fellow fishermen and fisherwomen..
Smith Point Beach,Moriches Inlet,Long Island N.Y. The Blues are active today, outgoing tide.I used a white buck tail with a red add on rubber tail.I forgot what it’s called.
