Fellow Anglers... please take a moment today and say a prayer for the two families in Virginia devastated by the loss of two young men in a boating accident. Their bass boat flipped and according to witnesses, one of them made it to shore. He observed his partner struggling in the water and swam back out to help. The young men did not survive. Folks, for anything good to come of this we all need to acknowledge that cold water is no joke. The young men were not wearing PFD's. If you are like me and often put yourself at risk by not wearing your PFD, then please join me in using this tragedy as motivation to do the right thing. Even take it a step farther and share this story with anyone you observe putting themselves at risk.

The problem with a lot of us is we get that arrogance that it won’t happen to me but the problem is that it will be after the actual event that we are reminded that no one is above the laws of physics and S$!/happens to all of us
I’m just as stupid as the next person and I also at times say it will be okay 👍
I guess I’m a bit lucky 🍀
But this doesn’t mean the next time I will be 🍀🍀🙏🙏

Why just the cold weather months Steve? 😡 Get you one of those small inflatable PFD’s. If for some reason you go overboard, how do you know you won’t hit your head and get knocked out? You won’t even feel the inflatable PFD. It’s the first thing I put on when I get in the boat and the last thing I take off.

I saw that on Wired 2 Fish, Steve, a tragedy for sure. I'm guilty of that arrogance as well, and will endeavor to change my behavior this coming season. Thanks for posting this.
May they rest in peace.

Yes you do Steve. Drownings are called preventable for a reason. Did you not wear your steel pot all the time in Nam? None of my business on either but just concerned Brother.

I saw this article as well so sad! Ever since I’ve been on the stage I’ve worn an inflatable religiously. Didn’t want to get caught in a picture with out it.😂. But seriously I’ve gone to realize accidents happen and drowning is preventable so I’ll do what I gotta to come home after my fishing trips!

Grizz you realize saws cold and our COLD are totally different worlds!🤣👍🏻

Well Hack. Thankfully I was never IN Nam. But know lots who were, and I get your meaning.
You're right. A very close Uncle of mine drowned in Texas shortly before I moved out here to Tahoe.
There's absolutely NO reason I shouldn't wear one. They say, " A word to the wise is sufficient."
Think I'll make that my New Years resolution. Thanks guys.

No, I didn't wear my steel pot in Vietnam. Wore my boonies hat the whole time I was in Vietnam. Didn't wear a flak jacket either, sat on it driving my truck or the jeep.
