Best investment I ever made was a Traeger wood pellet smoker. Bought mine used I cook trout fillets a short bit of maybe 8-12 mins Use small amounts of spice. No brine just smoke 💨 on grill. Very good flavor much better than if cooked on any thing else. I will never switch back.

Well here in my fishing holes of Western North Carolina I don’t know of any cell service. That’s where the fish hang out. Wet wading last summer and did aLulu on the rocks. Tore up these these 64 y/o legs
But had my wife with me and she rescued me. I think what happened was that I was walking instead of wading. There is a difference. 😜 If you’re fishing alone always let someone know your area of travel.

Cherokee NC on the Indian reservation is good fishing
Stock every week and have some catch and release twice a week they stock. Me and and my wife went yesterday and had a good day. The Tucaseegee is good also right now on the catch and release. My son in law and myself have caught and released in 4 hours we caught over 100 fish each. Sunburst NC outside Asheville is Great as well. Anybody looking for good fishing in western North Carolina let me know. Tight lines to all. We also love to go low country South Carolina about 4 hr drive and stay inland is great right now. Cw

There you are, problem solved. I find if waders are needed my go to is waist waders. Of course we are still wet wading here in WNC due to temps still 80-90deg weather.

I like to be on river at first light. Hike in by light and be there at sunrise.
Ripping lips and be gone to catch lunch.
Would rather fish in morning.

Eagle claw feather lite 6’6 2piece fly rod. I carried one for 30 years. Daiwa under slung spincast reel. 25-30 dollars on Amazon just got 2nd rod. I trout fish in western North Carolina rivers. I Love my unorthodox rig.

I gotcha and I’m not going to pinch a penny on tackle and be sorry for it later after I lost a good fight because of trying to save money on tackle. The same is with ammo I have a lot of money invested in tackle and firepower. And far as boycotting a company because of their practices in business. I live 40 miles and up to shop for whatever I need. I worked all my life to enjoy retirement and if I wanna go fishing in morning I go.

Gamakastu $1 each
I bought 2/0 3/0 4/0 today @ Dicks sporting good.
Only other choices would be Eagle Claw.
I tried cheaper hooks #10 #12 trout fishing and had to many fail.

I use Crocs w/socks to wet wade here in the North Carolina trout streams. Once I start fishing I don’t pay any attention to the temp. If you see after your outing you will return to fish another day I recommend you invest in a pair of Soft Science Tera Fin boots. Best investment you can make on boots. I have pair for wet wading and a size up that I use with waders. Lightweight comfortable and stick to slick rocks.
