I fish tournaments too, the best advice I can give you is go out for a day and scan the lake with your electronics! Side view will really help with that! Go find all the points and structure you are going to fish set a waypoint or mark them some how. Don’t spend a lot of time trying to catch them that day just concentrate on finding them! Then go back and prefish those spots and only try and catch 1 fish from each spot just to make sure they are there. Good luck

There’s 4 lakes in the Roosevelt chain, big lakes with lots of big bass!! The salt river comes out the end towards Apache junction, not to far from you it has some rainbow trout in it along with bass an cats! Lake Pleasant is close and you have some canal fishing too!! Also the White Mountains are full of lakes and rivers(Showlow and Pinetop)

I have a black max you don’t need backing jus spool the brand. Then tie on your leader between 18-24 inches. There are videos on YouTube for the knots. Hope this helps

From Alpine take 180 east to forest service road 571 south it will connect to blue river road take it tell you hit a Y intersection that’s when you first start to see the blue, you will see a small creek along the way that’s not it! It’s a beautiful drive into the forest and a great place to camp/fish in the summer
