New to bass fishing here in The Derby City, and surrounding counties.
Received an Abu Black Max for Xmas-7’er
and fluoro line #15.

Confused as to mono to fluoro to braided or vice versa,( backing) and which I should use power clips as my hands dexterity is not so hot, and lastly I am mostly bank fishing small streams and ponds ( bank). Any info would b greatly appreciated. Thanks gentlemen and ladies if your out there in advance!

I have several black max reels.there perty good reels.for what your doing , I don't use any backing. If any thing just one wrap if electrical tape to keep line from spinning in spool.ir if there are holes thru the spool tie thru them no need for any backing. Just a $15 pound power pro. And 12 lb Pline leader should drag in anything in the creek.

I have a black max you don’t need backing jus spool the brand. Then tie on your leader between 18-24 inches. There are videos on YouTube for the knots. Hope this helps

I'm not sure? I use them to tie off to.so the line doesn't slip on the spool.the reels I use for big fish are the Any Garcia Revo Winch. I've caught alota 30 lb plus fish on them and never burnt one up.ive caught alota on the black max also there great except a little jerky on big fish.18 lb drag. Just not as smooth. But capable

Hey guys been trying to figure out how to load videos on here.im Gunna have to find a 5 year old and have him/her show my old ass.lol. the knot I use to tie braid to a reel is an Arbor knot. The knot I use to tie braid to floro is the Albright knot., Braid to a swivel or lure polymer knot. You can get a 5 year old to find it on the internet.lol cuz I can't.🤔

Egg. I tried to copy and paste the trailer latch thing but I failed too so don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. My nerd that usually get me through stuff like this on the phones etc is in the Air Force now so can’t lean on him. I just googled it looks neat. Tempted to convert my 1973 Glaspar with EZ Loader ( ez loader my ...) to a bunk then add the latch thing. So the trihull auto centers . Currently the rollers make it impossible to load it without being in the water etc.

I had an old Garcia reel from the 40’s or 50’s. Cannot find it so I went and bought a new black max. I really like it. Might just get another one for the 13ft graphite that I have. I use braid on two reels and really like it.

Yeah, I use the clips myself due to Dupuytren’s in both hands. I'm going from early stages to mid. That's why I make my rigs at home. I put the clip on my braided line. Rigs on a good barrel and flourocarban. I have a second setup all flourocarban, clip for my lures.

Hmmm, sounds like we're all in the same boat , I'm crippled in my right hand from a broken neck injury.kinda works kinda don't. AND blind in my right eye.cant hold a hook or string in my right hand. I do everything with my right hand with needle nose pliers or surgical clamps.for tying rigs , swivels and those clamps.i bought a 15 dollar fly tying vice that clamps down to hold the hook swivel clip or what ever while I tie in the string. I can clamp it down in my boat in my ice hut where ever.??? Try it fellas. Even with the way I am I still make most of my own fishing gear, I still make some of the Baddest custom rods you've ever seen. Will show you a picture of my third hand. Seen clamped to my cutting board.
