Careful Plum. Looks like you might be calling out some folks that would prefer to fly under the radar.

Thanks for the follow-up guidance guys. I've been appreciating the wisdom of OJ's posts for a long time on this site.

Haven't done it for years, but as kid I would just take a piece of bread down to the river and knead some cardamom into it - because that's what we had laying around. Caught lots of carp, though they would play with it a long time before committing. Great "lazy" fishing days.

I'd have to throw my vote to the Holy Modal Rounders, but I'm a strange duck.

Fred I'm not sure if a 22/250 was ever legal in Wva or not.
Do know when I was hunting with a few of the boys down there a couple carried them.
Saw one of them knock a big doe down on the run. Actually it was a 14yr old boy.👍

Must have been hell to pay for knockin' down that 14yr old boy Grizz!

I probably shouldn't joke on a thread where guys are talking so freely about guns. I'm not a gun owner, but lately thinking I might feel better with a shotgun in the house. Hard to take the leap if you've never been a h****r.

Just got in, good pour with great finishers. On to business. First, thanks to Rip,JDF, fly, Joe, whtoak, Roger for your thoughts and experiences. I was in the correct pond with thoughts of $100 for a starter for each guide and to be prepared for double plus. Going out Sunday morning, I'll post pictures and anything of note assuming there's pics/notes worth posting. Second, I truly am grateful for this forum and all the people that gather here. Thanks to all the stagers on the forum and to all those who went before. Psyclops out.

Great finishers? How much did you tip them?

I am ice fishing. Drilling through the 42" of ice. The navionics map said I was in 8ft of water. But the lake level has gone down, and there was only 3ft of ice, then dirt. Thats why I drilled into dirt.

Holy crap! If I'm drilling thru more than 18" I'm going home.

Lots of nice smallmouth on the Fox right in Appleton. Limited options for launching a boat though. Sunset Park in Kimberly might be a place to start, but I'm not a boat owner so don't know all the details.

We were camping a few years ago when what we assume was an owl hauling a terrified rabbit passed just over our tents in the middle of the night. That continuous blood-curdling shriek right above is not how you want to be jarred out of a peaceful slumber. Pretty funny the next morning when half a dozen of us thought it was the most horrific thing we had ever heard, while one had slept through the entire episode.

Impressive. Might add another inch or two before you catch him again!

Did you get a weight or a length Rock? Always hard to tell from photos, but it looks like he might be pushing 20"?

I really enjoyed your bullhead photo. We used to catch a ton of those when we were kids (and little else) but it's probably been 30 years since I've seen one!
