I have a condo in Daytona beach and when I'm down there I would always have my breakfast coffee and fish of the Inlet Pier. Really sorry to see they don't allow fishing there anymore. I had some real great days there.

hope to be relocating down there this year probably in Hernando . there are dozens of lakes in that area and when I get down there I'd be happy to explore some of them with you. many of the subdivisions have private lakes or ponds that my grandson goes to and catches 6-8# bass on a regular basis. Plus my son goes to a lake down there and catches one to two and a half pound bluegills , can't wait to check that out cause that's my favorite fish to eat.

that is what you would call a stickleback it's a minnow that you will occasionally get mixed in with regular minnows I have never caught a fish with one as bait while getting many crappies and bluegills the same time with regular mudminnows or shiners. the dam things also are hard to kill and will outlast any other minnow I've seen.

I've got and use some of the better more expensive set ups and I think as I replace or add to I'm going to look at that LEWS setup seems to be great quality and a very reasonable price tag. But as mention above go with either medium or even medium heavy rather than light action if your going to be using it for Bass.

If you purchased it from a place like Bass Pro shop take it back there and have a salesman check it out because that's decent reel and it should perform a whole lot better. But #1 8# mono is not the best choise for a bait caster as thinness has attendances to overlap.

Of the 25 rods I have for bass fishing I purchased a Johnny Morris Signature with the micro guides on it. Was very skeptical but I found that they are as good or better preforming than the same rod so I will eventually replace all with micro guides. Good luck with what ever way you go. The Capt.

The first and I feel most important thing to know starting out is don't waste your time and frustration on a bait caster if you get a piece of junk. The price is not the determining factor of quality. Right now Bass Pro Shop has the Pro Qualifier 2 series on sale the individual prices are $79.95 each the combo would be cheaper. The rod depending on your height and arm length should be between 6 61/2 or 7 feet get a medium heavy action (be sure to practice the casting movement with all 3 size rods and go with what is most comfortable. Next is line use a quality 15 to 18# mono or blend line DON'T put too small of line on the reel to start with. Ask sales person to adjust settings for reel with a 3/8 once spinner bait on it and tighten brake an extra amount. I know you will not get as much distance with cast but you also will not get a bunch of birds nests and as you get the feel of using your thumb on spool start to lower brake .In no time at all you will love to use the bait caster as much as the spinning models. Just be patient and follow the few simple things I outlined and you'll be very happy with results. Hope that helps Tight lines to you from a grizzlied old Captain.

Be aware that in many areas If you sell the catch you made you may be subject to be arrested if you don't have a commercial license. Better check out BEFORE you start advertising the sale. Be careful out there.

You know it is very difficult for any team to go to GREEN BAY and win. (not because of talent) The packers are a very talented team but the ref's calls they get at home are unbelievable. You have to think that their quarterback (one of the best) is wearing a dress out there the way the ref's protect him as compared to ANT other QB in the league. Watch and see what kind of protection they give to the panthers QB, it's discus ting that guy they allow defenses to mob and beat the hell out of and hardly ant penalties called and Rodgers sometimes even the announcers comment how that penalty called is PHANTOM. Same thing with receivers the pack have some of the best in the league but the calls they get are UNREAL. I'm not a packer hater but I am a real football fan that hates to see UNJUSTICE. This is getting to be like the NBA where you used to see traveling called when some players take more than two steps now some of the "protected" take as many as six or seven steps and don't get called. You even see defenders standing in position and a "protected" player runs into him and the defender gets called for getting in the way (your not supposed to impede by just standing in position them from scoring. I have lost total respect for the NBA as the refs seem to have a predetermined outcome for games looks like Green Bay and New England get the same kind of preference. And they wonder why the viewership ahs dropped so dramatically. Just my opinion I know there are a lot of G,B, fans that don't see it that way and you have a right to your opinion as well Just Sayin.
