In the North, in particular, NY and the St.Lawrence River, we do a lot of drift fishing and with the east or northeast wind one is moving to shore and limits getting to the areas where fish are feeding. The River predominantly travels north and south and it becomes difficult to fish the downward portions of shoals and drop-offs working against the wind.

I am fortunate to live in the South for 6mos and North for 6mos and the restrictions in both areas are about the same. Boat launches are open for use (6' distancing in place). Golf in the South in some counties carts have been removed and in others a 'one person on cart' rule has been put in place. Fishing in the North is not restricted unless the ice is still present and it might be a bit early to hit the links with a cart but walkers will be playing.

Had a family home on Oneida Lake and never had a bad catching walleye. Now fish the St. Lawrence River and although the fish is not as plentiful, those caught are generally larger.

mushroom anchor is the best and safest. grapnel type can become lodged and when attempting to dislodge can be a problem pulling down the light kayak. experienced!

My work pond is about 3 ft deep throughout the whole Lake. Lake. It has polluted runoff from all the businesses indoor Industrial Park. Water is always Sandy Brown. These may all be factors in the color of the fishes.

I would be concerned that the coloring caused by industrial runoff might make eating the fish questionable. Maybe you just catch and release.
