That’s was the classic go to musky reel!
Horrible video
No detail, just chatter
Clyde from Wisconsin here
Spent the weekend in Whiskey Rapids trying deer hunting luck. None
Fishing transition here. Too cold for open water, too warm for ice!
Anyway, good morning everyone
Good day to all
I was recently reprimanded for using a four letter word that rhymed with Ship.
I apologize to anyone that I may have offended and I will certainly use more better language going forward
i love fluorocarbon
But I do Not use it for a leader
The problem is not the line but the knots
I spool my entire reel with flouro
Have for a few years now
I’ll put it up against mono all day!
Call me lazy and thrifty but my 30 lb braid that I use for Muskie is a mere 20 years old!
I’ll pull off about 5yards a year and re-tie
Never lost a fish from bad line
Welcome Denny
I’m Clyde from Wisconsin
Army veteran,1st Cav Div. Vietnam era
I fish the shit out of Lake Winnebago here for Walleyes and fish for Crappies and Gills on a small chain an hour north
Thanks for your service!
Clyde
I’d like to know too
Wisconsin here but spend time in Gulfport/Biloxi
Have subcontractor work in the shipyard
I love it down there
a worm on a hook and a bobber has to be the #1
Wouldn’t you think?
I don’t use any thing heavier than 4lb test and I like fluorocarbon over mono as it is more dense thus it will sink faster
Also stronger, more abrasion resistant
I found that 4lb test actually has a knot break tensile strength of just shy of 6lbs
I’ll be using 3lb test this coming spring!
Get new gas for your ice auger!
Beauty
I have catching a stripper on my bucket list
Where, When and how? I heard they put up a good fight.
From Wisconsin here and don’t have that opportunity locally
I can fillet a fish with an axe!
(A really really big fish)
For SAUGER a good method is to drag and bounce the bottom while slow trolling
Live or artificial both work
What is a saugeye?
A cross between a sockeye salmon and a sauger?
I know a sauger is a cousin of the Walleye
We catch those mostly on sand flats in the same water bodies that hold Walleyes
