I know it gets expensive, but they usually prefer larger bait ($5s and $10s), but you'd have much better luck ! That IS a really nice striper, though ! Did y'all get yourself something to warm up afterward, like Irish coffee, maybe ? It'll definitely warm your bones !

If you Really want to fill your bucket list with a striped bass, ya have to go to Montauk N Y. The fishing capital of the world . Spend one day on one of the Viking fleet boats and the next day on a smaller charter boat. None of it’s cheap but it’s an experience you’ll NEVER forget.

Froze my BUTT off. But the water temp was 60* offshore. We warmed right up.
Amazing thing, ice in the canal on the way out, 45* in the bay and 60* 5 miles out.

Nah, it’s a small aircraft carrier (Jeep). I’ve got it parked offshore in international waters. No drugs allowed but girls, gambling, drinking, and FUN FUN FUN. You can always tie up along side, out of the wind, and come aboard for the day.
