Flurocarbon, thumbs up or thumbs down?
I've tried a lot of Flurocarbon for leader and I'll be honest. I wouldn't give you 10 cents for all the fluro you can stack in a pile. Won't stand up under deep stress. Snaps off if you cast too hard. I could rant all day. I don't believe the line companys put any quality control into their product. I have tyed lures, snug down, line breaks. Move up the line a couple feet, retie, line holds. What the he__? I went back to all mono, no breaks. Flurocarbon SUCKS.
No argument here. I prefer Power Pro braid, but use mono ice fishing and perch fishing. I had breakage problems with fluoro and didn't like the way it casted. We all need to use what works for us.
Mono just seems to work better for me to so thats all i use on all five of my reels.
I quit filling a reel spool with floro, but like it as a leader.
Use it for a leader only and catching stripers, trout, and flounder with no problems.

Never used it and after reading the complaints I never will. Thatโs my story and Iโm sticking to it.

I bought a 1/4 lb spool of Yozuri hybrid line. It was on sale at Academy & 12lb was the smallest in stock so I got a roll. It's a flurocarbon/nylon hybrid. I can tell you that it's far better than any straight flurocarbon I have ever used. I'm still looking for some 6lb & 8 lb test, if it's made. I'm not saying it's something everyone needs but it has been good on my wacky worm rig even at 12ib test. That's just my opinion.
Thanks hack, I haven't looked on line for it yet but that's probably my best chance. I get a lot of stuff off ebay & a little from amazon. I tried some 5 lb test power pro & really didn't care for it. Power pro is my braid of choice. I've heard good things on Yozuri 832, or 830 something. I might try it. I was really impressed with that hybrid flurocarbon nylon. Good luck & have a good thanksgiving.

Best line in the world for leaders , only a couple that are 100% fluoro are any good ! Sunline and Toro by far the best for casting otherโs garbage retain memory cast awful and if itโs a blend it can drop dramatically in knot strength !
Use it for its primary use as a leader but fly guys remember it sinks !
Yeah I only use mono on my bait rods and braid on my frog rods donโt see the use for flora where I fish and Fishon Fishon!!!!
I spend 4 months each year in SE Alaska fishing Sockeye. The big draw on Flurocarbon is the fish do not see it After two different test's using Fluro, mono and Maxima the results had Maxima out fishing the other 2. The Sockeye saw the Fluro just as easy as the others I have stopped using it as it is so much more expensive. I personally think we are being fed BS about the fish not seeing it as well.
If u go on line there are underwater photos of visibility line comparisons and floro is the least visible. As far as being stronger than mono, (as they claim), I haven't found that to be true. I prefer mono in most cases and the yozuri hibread is a great line for the money. I pay $2-3 for a 300 (275) yard spool. I usually get it at the seafood festival in marathon Florida when I'm down there.
