I love that stuff! Here's a Samurai I made a few years ago:
After a few minor mishaps last season, I have finally decided to let go of my canoe. I love being on the water, but getting there has become a hassle in recent years. Loading and unloading the boat on the car, launching and docking, and don't get me started about pee breaks.
Anyway, what surprises me is that I'm not depressed about it. On the contrary, I'm excited to begin this new chapter in my fishing journey. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about bank fishing and have been reorganizing my tackle, concentrating primarily on weedless lures for bass and trout. Saltwater hasn't been a problem since I have done mainly shore fishing anyway.
What I would like from this group is advice on small ponds in southern Maine where there is access to a sufficient amount of shoreline that would produce fish. I'm familiar with a lot of ponds, but I've always focused on the launch area. Also, if anyone is interested in a used, single person canoe, DM me and we'll talk.
I like Power Pro in 20# test, not because I need the strength, but I get a lot of wind knots in the lighter stuff.
It looks very similar to an old Indian reel that I've had sitting on a shelf for years. Sadly, I don't have much info on it, but I suspect there's some connection with the Indian Motorcycle Co.
Thanks everyone. Had a quiet day- just like I prefer. Cupcakes and old movies.
BIG yay! Especially when dosed with Larceny Bourbon for a couple weeks.
Looks like it's eating a mouse.

Don Kliner of Maine Outdoors. He was funny and found the fish. We fished a lake off a river but I don’t recall the name of either. Lake was northwest of town.
Not the guy I was thinking of. I don't know him personally, but Maine Outdoors has a lot of good people on staff.
Who was your guide? From your brief description, I think I might know him.
