Well my friends, I have officially crossed into Baja Sur Mexico! 12 hours of driving behind me! After a good nights sleep I’ll be driving another 13-16 hours to surf fishing (surfing)paradise to San Jose del Los Cabos for 6 weeks of waves, women ( my wife ), and a much deserved break from the BS going on up North! Tight lines to you all🙏
I agree with papabear... I’d definitely go with either heavy mono or 30-40lb braid... stay away from floro, braid and mono float, floro sinks... this applies to all top water presentations....
I don’t see why not🤷🏼♂️ I’d just use a heavier action rod and possibly a little “beefier” reel...
Center Hill Lake Tennessee... I go out there every year for my annual “man trip”! Was there this past January... got some nice smallmouth on Damiki blade baits and tailspins 🎣
Shimano Sedona 2500 or Phleuger Presidente ... personally I prefer the Shimano but both are amazing reels for the price!
Toss up between a Jakel Rerange jerkbait & a 3.3 keiteck fat swimbait...
Also, ultra light spinning rod, 1500 ( small ) spinning reel with no larger than 6lb test line. I’d suggest 4lb test...🎣
Panther Martin spinners size #1 & #2. I’ve caught hundreds of trout all over the country on these simple spinners. Simply cast into moving water, let it sink for a bit and let do its thing. My favorite colors are yellow body silver blade and black body copper blade.
I’ve never fished there but I’ve heard good things about it. It has a solid stripper population and a decent largemouth bass bite. I’m not sure what the water level is like but last time I fished Diamond Valley Lake the water level was shockingly low!
I have the XT ... great reel! That said, I prefer the Shimano Sedona. Just personal preference 🤷🏼♂️
Braid as backing? I just use my trout set up.., ultra light spinning set up with 4-6lb line..,
For me it’s simple! Panther Martin spinners size 1 & 2. Ive caught hundreds of trout all
Over the country with them. Just something magic about em!
