I plan on leaving anything that is “Still Functioning” to whoever needs it. Then, Cremation and a Celebration of Life among my friends. Finally, take my ashes and place the Urn on the back deck of a friends Bass Boat on Clear Lake, remove the top, and then “Take Off” allowing my ashes to be spread over the Lake.

Depending on the date, I hope to make it this year !@!@

That’s a great find !!! That was the “Must Have” reel of its day !! I had 3 or 4 and they were great !! I switched to Zebco when they came out with the “Cardinal 4” !! Great collectors piece !!

Fish the main lake points with Shad colored 4” Worms on a Drop Shot rig or Dark Red 6” worms Texas Rigged. Brown/Purple Jigs fished slowly down the humps.

They like a 6” Morning Dawn or Prizim Shad on a Drop Shot at Kaweah.

I use 15-20# Power Pro on all my spinning, and 30-65# on some of my Baitcasters. I adjust my Drag on the fly as I start to bring in a fish. I WANT that fish to pull some drag. Not enough to just run away, but enough so that he is able to make a short “Burst” without breaking the line.

You want some stretch in throwing a Crank Bait so that when you get hit, the fish can pull when it hits. If there’s no stretch the hooks can more easily pull out !! It’s also best to use a medium action rod with a medium to fast tip for the same reason.
And for top water baits you want to use Mono because it floats. Braid and Fluorocarbon sinks taking away the action of the bait. And mono tends not to allow the bait to get tangled in the front hooks when worked. The rod needed depends on what bait you’re throwing from a med/fast for a popper to a Heavy/medium for a Frog.

I’d pretty much always lived outside of town until about 12 yrs ago when we downsized and prepared for retirement and sold the ranch and bought a manufactured home in a seniors park. We love the new digs and every thing was great until about 5yrs ago when they built a new High School a mile or so from us. They started celebrating the 4th with a “Spectacular” Fireworks show !! That and also building a few new tracts of homes around us. I thought I had put all that behind me, but it “popped” back up over the last few yrs. I’ve gotten somewhat better. Hopefully I’ll continue to improve.

I’m as American as you can get, and I love it !! I served my Country from ‘66-‘72 in the USN and saw action in Viet Nam running the Seal Team up and down the Rivers. All our opps began at dusk and ended at dawn.
As a kid I loved Fire Works and actually still do at 76. But, only now, if I can SEE them !!! To only “Hear” them, is Excruciating !! It’s not as bad as it used to be, and if I get too on “edge”, I get in the truck and head for the hills where I can get away from the noise. Is UN-nerving at how much they sound like Mortar shells and small arms fire. I wouldn’t want to take away from anybody their right to enjoy the Celebration, it’s the illegal use long into the night after the organized shows are over. The VA knows my issues and has prescribed a sedative, but that scares me even more. If you or any of your friends or family are unaware of what some of us have been thru, not just Nam, but Iraq, Iran, Pakistan or any Conflict, try to understand what we’re going thru. Thanks Guys

I’m pretty sure that only applies to 2-Stroke CARBORATED or EFI motors on certain lakes in California. All drinking water, no body contact lakes, and specific State operated lakes. If your motor is “STAR” rated with a decal on the rear, you can launch there. There’s only a few lakes in Northern Ca, ( Millerton Lake, San Louis Res, Los Banos Creek Res, and Oroville, are ones I know of ) but most lakes in Southern Ca are restricted.

Yep, been expecting that to happen for a while !! Next it’ll be every year instead of every 2 yrs !
