Tuesday we were towing our small travel trailer through back country Montana. Came across a UPS carrier desperately trying to kick out a roadside fire he had spotted adjacent to a wheat field ready for harvest. Cindy grabbed the fire extinguisher out of the trailer and handed it to me so I could help. It made a big difference. Stayed until the local fire department arrived then headed out.
The firemen were super appreciative. If that wheat field went up it could have been a disaster for the farmers. If we hadn't had the trailer we wouldn't have had the fire extinguisher.
As soon as we get home from vacation I will purchase an additional fire extinguisher to keep in the truck.

Nice Job Jim. You prevented a possible disaster there, and I'm sure the farmer appreciates it. Carrying a fire extinguisher is a great idea.

Way to go Jim, there is hope. Getting a extinguisher sounds like a great idea
Why wait until you get back home ? Your fire extinguisher now needs replaced/re-charged so get an additional one now. I have 2 in the Boat and one in the truck and one in the Wifeβs car too !

Funny thing happened to me. I stopped to assist a driver who's travel trailer had been hit by another car, in an intersection. I was in my little Chinook motor home. I look over and another Chinook motorhome driver was getting out her fire extinguisher. Chinooks haven't been made for 20 years. I'm a Volunteer firefighter and this happened in our jurisdiction. Another firefighter just happened by on his motorcycle and helped me with traffic control until the engine company arrived. Trailer was totaled, but know one was seriously hurt.
