Yes! Those and more were in a popular song that came out in the 1950's or 1960's.

One more was: Where has Oregon, boys, where has Oregon? If you want Alaska,
(I’ll-ask-a) where she’s gone.”

Well I have mentioned before I am really hearing challenged, and now After 8 years on this pair, the left has failed so it has been doubly hard to hear anything and especially listening to My BFF widow has been calling and asking me questions. Thankfully my wife could get on line to help hear. Anyway when I inquired about getting them looked at, I was told that the Manufacturer charges have gone up for repairs from about $100 when I had to have them sent in to now $350. My wife who has to deal with me not hearing her is getting tired of it, and I can't blame her, Main reason when I joined the Navy in the 1950's they said you can't be a SONAR MAN. Funny how later in life I became in charge of the Sonar section in Design division for the Navy as a Civilian Engineer. Anyway with the increased sophistication it looks like a pair may cost 6 big ones. Going in Thursday to see what is available.

A friend of mine gets his hearing aid through his VA benefits. Have you looked into that possibility?

Well let's see who likes fruitcake. Last count on another thread was 5 of us.

And for you home makers of it, recipes are most welcome.

Yep! I love it and always buy at least one fruit cake each Christmas season.

My keyboard has a numeric keypad button that has to be activated when I wish to use the numeric keys. Perhaps yours has one also. There are many ASCII codes available and can come in handy sometimes. i.e. if you wanted to show the English pounds symbol; it's there. ( ASCII code 156: £300.00.) Isn't that handy? ASCII codes are not taught much anymore and that leaves a lot of people ignorant of this great computer function, and that is a shame.

I hope that I did not offend you. That was not my intention. Smile and the world smiles with you.

I saw a post from Scud talking about snow up north and out west and received a couple pics from a good friend out that way.

63* at 6am this morning makes me wonder when it's going to be our turn.

The degree symbol is, using the numeric keypad, Alt key, 248. i.e. 63°

There, that looks better.

And mine was a 1954 Pontiac with a straight 8 engine and Hydromatic transmission. It was a dark green and each time the brake pedal was used there was a kind of honking noise, so it became known as the Green Goose.

I am 82 and I have been letting my teeth go. I had a tooth pulled about 2 years ago and the charge was $386.00. That is when I decided to heck with my teeth, unless pain dictates otherwise. I can't see spending a lot of money in that fashion and then pass away. My wife will enjoy having that money, so I will just keep it.
