I think that says 1.72 kg, or slightly over 4 lbs. I think the bass is in the 7 to 8 lbs range.
You're killing it Gordon! Good eats.
Never a dull moment Gordon.😁
Nice Gordon. Did Lily get to run around a bit? Or, do you have to keep her leashed?
Nice day Fred. You had a lot of action. O went out and fished our community ponds on Monday and caught a coule.of juvie leg mouth. I hope I can get one worthy of posting soon.😁
Yes it is. It put up quite a fight.
Thanks Four, I'll have to try that. I like it sauteed in butter and olive oil.
Here are some pics as promised. My friend Carl caught the biggest Sheepshead that day. The toadfish was the biggest one I ever caught.
Nice Gordon! I had a great day too. I'll post pictures later. I was 8 miles off of Fripp Island and then off Hunting Island. We caught 15 keepers: 13 Sheepshead, one black drum and a sea bass. We also caught quite a few small sheepshead and sea bass, a couple of toad fish (one big one) and a ring tail porgy. The seas were calm and it was a beautiful day. Glad you had such a good day as well.
It's definitely a dolphin. They actually fish by herding bait fish on the bank and then go up and eat them. I've seen it down here on Sawmill Creek, off of the Colleton River (tidal river). In fact, National Geographic did a piece on them several years back in the same area (Colleton/Chechessee rivers). The technique is called fish-kicking or fish-whacking.
What a beautiful fish. I can't wait to catch me on that big. 5 and a half lbs is the biggest I landed here in SC.
