That sounds like the old bowling alley hole? 😀
Faraday Lake Used to be a good one back in the day. Easy trout fishing. And here is a tip for summer steelys. If you hike a little further down then go over onto the Clackamas right there. Use a bobber. If they are in, you can see them from the trail above.
I'm not sure of what the run is like in there, these days.
I guess it is in between time for the Sandy right now. I uncovered an old punch card from when I was 16. 50+ yrs ago. Mostly fishing around the Pipeline Hole area. I was punching them in January and February. The run is later nowadays. I am up above Marmot now.
That chicken sure does work good for the Squawfi... Oops, I mean Northern Pikeminnow.
And here I could have enjoyed a lot of tasty bananas in my earlier days... ðŸ˜
You will be having to learn all about bobbing those bobbers and twerking those jigs. 🥹
Likely a pod of silver's coming in.
Looks like a hella catch to me. 😀
This lake also receives trophy trout. Oregon fish and game has updated info on when and how many.
I remember fishing Cedar Creek has a young man over 50 years ago. It is quite a hike down that trail. I was thinking maybe my eBike might be the ticket?
The salmon come few and far between for the plunkers. Much less, the Big one. I don't know much about Sauvie Island. But I expect that you are familiar with the technique of clipping, a leader with a Magnum Wiggle Wart, onto your main line after you are set in your rod holder. It will work its way down to your swivel once it hits the water where it can hang there and do its wonky thing.
They are in. To Cedar Creek and beyond. With this rain, there should be biters.
You might be able to throw a pot in from the beach over there by the jaws. I'm not sure. But for salmon, you best get down to the Salmon river. NOW might just be the right time for big Chinook.
