Hello,
New to this page. Recently widowed and looking for places to fish. Sadly, my late husband took all the good info with him when he left. Any tips as well as other page references would be appreciated

It kind of depends on what you want to fish for and how you want to fish. There are salmon that come into the Clackamas as well as steelhead. There is also trout fishing. It makes a difference whether you are going to bank fish or use a boat.

OK The easiest access is near the mouth. There are some good spots, mostly on the north bank. Everything is too high right now. There should be steelhead moving, Salmon will star in March. There is also good access on the Willamette from Meldrum Bar Park.

I'm used to fish that but can't recall where it is. And Bonnie lure and such. The was many years ago. Where are they?! I was always the passenger. I also heard that the eagle Creek salmon run were getting moved to another river? Is that true?

The salmon river is catch and release for trout and steelhead. Salmon are protected, you are not allowed to fish for salmon. Move down to the Sandy river if you want to keep anything.

Awesome! Thanks! Is there anywhere that posts the fish counts or reports? I'm not even sure when the runs are anymore

Faraday Lake Used to be a good one back in the day. Easy trout fishing. And here is a tip for summer steelys. If you hike a little further down then go over onto the Clackamas right there. Use a bobber. If they are in, you can see them from the trail above.

I'm not sure of what the run is like in there, these days.

Thank you for the info. Do you have any suggestions for a spot. Not asking for your favorite hole, lol, I just have no idea where to even begin to start.

Perfect! Going to give it a shot tomorrow. I fished Bonnie lure all week and not a thing. I drove to the hatchery and It seemed closed. Guess they aren't up that far yet. I'll share a picture because I'm catching one 🤣🤣😁😏
