it's been so long since I lived there (1997) , wish I could remember street names but if you go to high rocks then follow the road thru Gladstone along the river twards Mcgloughin you should find lots of palces Gladstone has a city park along the river with a paved path down to the river dont skip high rocks parks itself seems like it was the late 80's some guy caught a huge chinook about 100lbs right under the 205 bridge at high rocks
in clackamas back behind the Safeway warehouse was a bmx park the river ran through I used to really like that part of the river too
That's excellent advice! That's what 6 have been looking for. A path to follow. A starting place so to say. I moved to Eugene area in about 2006 and haven't, besides this last week, fished this area since..
almost every place I fished for steelhead or salmon was a place someone I met on the river told me about fish should be in the Clackamas & the Sandy right now the recent rain and warmth you have had pushed the rivers way up that should have spurred the fish on to move into the smaller rivers (my daughter lives in Ore. city and keeps me up to date) I'm betting the water is still high so be careful
Remember in high water especially the first point in the water you can not see the bottom is deep enough to hold fish , sometimes you can catch fish right on the bank
Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be cautious. Looking forward to sharing a picture of what I catch πβΊοΈ
I'll look forward to seeing your pic,s good luck
I looked it up on "show my street.com"... Arlington is the main street through Gladstone use that before you go & you can see just where your going west Clackmas street runs along the river ....Cross park has the paved trail to the river

It kind of depends on what you want to fish for and how you want to fish. There are salmon that come into the Clackamas as well as steelhead. There is also trout fishing. It makes a difference whether you are going to bank fish or use a boat.
I have a friend that bank fishes behind the 24 hr Fitness there in Gladstone. Has caught both salmon and steelhead there.
Good luck.
that's a great stretch of river from there to high rocks
That sounds like the old bowling alley hole? π
