What's the best way to bank fish for Chinook along the columbia river at sauvie island beaches? I've been doing both bait and lures and only got one big one on once bit it broke my line. Total bummer. IT WAS THE BIG ONE!
The salmon come few and far between for the plunkers. Much less, the Big one. I don't know much about Sauvie Island. But I expect that you are familiar with the technique of clipping, a leader with a Magnum Wiggle Wart, onto your main line after you are set in your rod holder. It will work its way down to your swivel once it hits the water where it can hang there and do its wonky thing.

Are you fishing by the nude beach or where? You can do ok but fish are clear up over the falls now. There is still some there but probably in the deepest part of channel.

Fishing at willow bar. It's down Reeder rd which is where the nude beach is, but further back towards town.
