I fished Davis lake 25 years ago and caught 5 and 8lb trout, this was before the die hard trout fisherman poisoned the lake because they had caught some Northern Pike. Heck I would rather catch 25lb Northern than a five pound trout. The trout fishing was ruined for quite awhile.
If I remember Calif. dept of Fish and Game was suied for poison the Portola water supply. Fish and Game turned around and did the same for Frenchman. All that being said I look forward to fishing both lakes when I move back to Nevada ne t month.
I’ve had all three and all three are delicious, nutritious and taste just like?????
Why would have trouble keeping gizzards on a hook?
I was cat fishing today using worms, chicken liver, cut bait and punch bait. All of our cats were caught on cut bait, and chicken liver. You never know what works until you wet a line.

Which tastes the best, the frogs or the bass. I would go for the frogs.
Absolutley rolled in egg and flour or cornmeal and deep fried. Can’t be beat.

did u catch them on the green worm that is on one of the frogs , or is that an alien frog?
Alien frog. Put the worm on the frog to show size, 6” worm.
Over the last couple of days fishing for bass I've caught more frogs than bass. Whenever a bass didn't hit the worm I would bring it across the top of the weeds and in front of a frog. Frogs could'nt resist.
Nevada has some great fishing lakes around Reno. Lake Lahontan outside of Fallon has some great Walleye fishing. Lake Pyramid has some great Lake Trout, also the Truckee river has some good trout fishing and of course there is Lake Tahoe. Just outside of Reno accross the CA. Border there is Boca lake, Stampede lake and Prosser lake. The have trout and Kokanee fishing.
We use mainly chicken liver but, we've also used beef liver, pheasant liver, pheasant hearts, creek chubs. I'll try the kidney if it can be found. I've had an order in for a case of chicken liver for almost three months. Nobody has any.
Thanks for the info on kidneys.
After vacumn packing the fish I give most of them to either the American Legion or the Catholic Church. Both put on a fish fry later in the year.
