I purchase a tub of this bait but do not think that was a good idea. I have tried to use it three times now and this is what I found out.
I used tubes to pack the bait into. I guess if a fish bite within a couple of minutes it would be okay. It dissolves after a short time in the water. Even drying off the tubes before trying to load them again it is nearly impossible to reload them.
I have not tried it yet with sponges but will try that otherwise I might as well throw it away.
If anyone has used it and like it please clue me in on how to use it.

Could it be that the fisherman has been caught, again?

Are the tubes open ended?

Yes. Above 2 inch long with three or four holes in side
If they look like the ones I just saw online, wrap them with some window screen and mix some chopped hay. It will swell and slow the bait dissolving too quickly.

That is worth a try thanks

We used to use hay, cottonseed cake and canned dog food in wire mesh fish baskets to bait our pier. We would layer it and the hay would act like a sieve and slow release the cake and dog food. Of course it was on a larger scale but worked very well.

A dozen night crawlers is two bucks. I caught 8 Chanel cats over 10 pounds with one dozen. Just sayin!!!

It's hard to beat a crawler for any type of freshwater fishing. (MHO)
I have premo..sticky and stinky..I cut pantyhose into strips big enough to smear the bait into the middle..then I wrap it like a burrito..and thread it onto my hook.,the bait stays pretty firm if chilled..but I have fairly decent luck

I always use 1/2 a night crawler and fresh peeled shrimp or carp meat. I take the open end of the night crawler half, and thread it up the hook onto the line. Leaving a good 1/4 of the good end of the worm dangling and moving. Then I put the shrimp or chunk of carp. I think the movement of the worm triggers a faster bite.
Catfish, are you fishing the Snake River? How do you rig or hook your night crawlers?
I was cat fishing today using worms, chicken liver, cut bait and punch bait. All of our cats were caught on cut bait, and chicken liver. You never know what works until you wet a line.
Best Catfish bait (Blues,Channel,Flathead). Chicken Gizzards. EVER! If you have a hard time keeping them on a hook, use some of your spouses/girlfriends old nylons.
Why would have trouble keeping gizzards on a hook?
